Abby Scott represents Ward 9 on the Bloomington City Council. She lives in East Bloomington with her husband, Corey, their two children, Maddie and Sam, and their pets, Gus and Joey. Originally from the Peoria area, Abby has called Bloomington-Normal home since 2012.

 

She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in statistics. Professionally, Abby works as a data scientist at State Farm, where she uses data analysis to help improve efficiency and guide strategic decision-making.

 

Abby has a long track record of community involvement. She has fostered children, served on the Heartland Theater Board, and contributed to Unit 5’s community engagement initiative. She’s also volunteered with the McLean County Cemetery Walk, the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, and local Boy Scout troops.

 

On the City Council, Abby brings a thoughtful, data-informed approach to complex issues. She is focused on expanding housing options, improving infrastructure like roads and sewers, supporting public safety and mental health services, and strengthening collaboration with neighboring governments and school districts. Abby is committed to listening to residents and working hard on their behalf.
