Update as of 05/13/2026

All liquor licenses have now been issued—thank you for your prompt attention to the renewal process. Please remember to display your license in a visible location within your establishment.

The next renewal period will be for semi-annual liquor licensees. We’ll send renewal emails in early September 2026, and all renewal materials will be due by October 1, 2026. Semi-annual licenses will expire on October 31, 2026.

Looking ahead, annual license renewal information will be emailed in March 2027.

Requirements for ALL Licensees

Deadlines

1st Week of March, 2026 — Renewal emails will be sent to all licensees and will include invoice number, document requirements, and other important renewal information.

April 1, 2026 — Payment, required documents, items/amounts owed to the City, and account updates will be due by 4:30 p.m.

April 2, 2026 — Licensees that do not submit all renewal requirements (payment and required documents) by the deadline will be issued a 10% late fee to their account. The initial renewal notification email will contain all the necessary items needed in order for a renewal to be considered complete.

April 30, 2026 — All licenses issued by the City Clerk Department will expire at 11:59 p.m.

 

Payment Information

After a licensee receives their initial renewal email that includes their invoice, renewal payments can be made at anytime before the renewal due date provided.

Your renewal invoice can be paid using any of the following methods (please note that American Express is not accepted)

  1. By Phone — Call (309) 434-2509, Ext. 0 to pay by credit card. 
  2. In Person — Accepted payment methods: credit card, cash, or check.
  3. By Mail — Send your payment to ATTN: Business License Payments. 
  4. Online — Payments can be made online here. Instructions for how to link your licensing account to make payment can be found hereNote that if you've already linked your account through tax payments, you don't need to link again--- just log in!

Additional Information:

  • All card transactions (online, over the phone, or in person) are subject to an additional transaction fee. 
  • Payments are accepted Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. 
  • Make checks payable to: City of Bloomington
  • Be sure to include your Invoice Number with your payment  
  • No need to notify us once payment is made — we’ll receive confirmation internally 😊
