Updates as of 03/09/2026
All current licenses with the City Clerk Department will expire on 04/30/2026. Renewal emails were sent out last week and renewal submissions will be due on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, so be sure to set your calendars! Renewal emails will be sent from cityclerk@cityblm.org. Please add that email to your contact list, if you haven't already, to ensure no important communication is missed.
Online Payments: We now offer online license payments! Payments can be made online by clicking here! Instructions for how to link your licensing account to make payment can be found by clicking here.
Guide to a Successful Renewal
Step 1: Ensure all required documents are uploaded using the Document Update Submission Form.
Step 2: Ensure no past due amounts are owed to the City for Taxes, Utility Bills, Parking Tickets, etc.
Step 3: Ensure that, if applicable, your establishment is up to date with Cross-Connection Surveys, Backflow Device Testing, and any associated fees.
Step 4: Read through your renewal email for information on what is required to be submitted.
Step 5: Complete your renewal and celebrate another successful renewal season! 🎉
Documents & Forms
Deadlines
1st Week of March, 2026 — Renewal emails will be sent to all licensees and will include invoice number, document requirements, and other important renewal information.
April 1, 2026 — Payment, required documents, items/amounts owed to the City, and account updates will be due by 4:30 p.m.
April 2, 2026 — Licensees that do not submit all renewal requirements (payment and required documents) by the deadline will be issued a 10% late fee to their account. The initial renewal notification email will contain all the necessary items needed in order for a renewal to be considered complete.
April 30, 2026 — All licenses issued by the City Clerk Department will expire at 11:59 p.m.
Payment Information
After a licensee receives their initial renewal email that includes their invoice, renewal payments can be made at anytime before the renewal due date provided.
Your renewal invoice can be paid using any of the following methods (please note that American Express is not accepted):
- By Phone — Call (309) 434-2509, Ext. 0 to pay by credit card.
- In Person — Accepted payment methods: credit card, cash, or check.
- By Mail — Send your payment to ATTN: Business License Payments.
- Online — Payments can be made online here. Instructions for how to link your licensing account to make payment can be found here! Note that if you've already linked your account through tax payments, you don't need to link again--- just log in!

Additional Information:
- All card transactions (online, over the phone, or in person) are subject to an additional transaction fee.
- Payments are accepted Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
- Make checks payable to: City of Bloomington
- Be sure to include your Invoice Number with your payment
- No need to notify us once payment is made — we’ll receive confirmation internally 😊
