Executive Order 2026 - 01 Outdoor Dining & Bar Operations

Here at the City of Bloomington, we are excited that the community has taken to outdoor dining! We love seeing patrons and businesses take advantage of the fair weather we have in Bloomington!

In an effort to ensure all businesses are properly informed on the requirements of an Outdoor Dining & Bar Operations Permit, see the above Executive Order for review which includes rules. Please ensure that all Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and outdoor heating and tent requirements within outdoor seating areas are in compliance.

Approved permits are active from May 1, 2026* - November 1, 2026
*or earlier upon the  Public Works Department completing the setup of approved spaces

All questions about outdoor dining can be directed to the Community Impact & Enhancement Department specifically the Community Impact Division, the City Clerk's Department is no longer processing outdoor dining & bar permits.
