The City of Bloomington is committed to working with and supporting existing businesses to prosper and grow our local economy. The Business Retention and Expansion (BR&E) Program is an effort by the City to gain input and feedback from businesses and to make it easier for businesses to reach City staff. This Economic Development strategy is used to better understand the needs and potential of businesses in the community in order to provide customized assistance. 

BR&E Program Goals

  • Identify business opportunities for expansion 

  • Connect local businesses with available resources for retention and expansion 

  • Provide customized customer service for the needs of each business 

  • Build relationships and an interconnected business community
