The City Council and Township meetings scheduled for tonight, January 22, 2024, have been canceled due to inclement weather affecting the City. The safety of residents, council members, and City staff is important and the decision to cancel the meetings has been made in consideration of these concerns.

The City understands the inconvenience this may cause and appreciates the community’s understanding. In light of the cancellations, a special council meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 12:30 pm in room 400 of the Government Center – 115 E. Washington Street, Bloomington, IL 61701.

The agenda for the special session will include the council’s vote on the approval of a negotiated lease agreement that will bring ECHL pro hockey to town along with other consent items. The council recognizes the significance of these decisions and are set for discussion and a vote on the items at that time. The agenda for Wednesday’s meeting can be found HERE.

A rescheduled date and time for the Township meeting will be released later. The ECHL press conference scheduled for 10:00 am Wednesday, January 24, 2024, will take place as scheduled.
