BLOOMINGTON, IL— A new window for applications for IHDA SFR Housing Rehabilitation is opening soon. This opportunity is made available through the City of Bloomington and the Illinois Housing Development Authority’s (IHDA) Single Family Rehabilitation (SFR) program.

The program offers residents meeting the program requirements a five-year (5) zero percent interest (0%) forgivable mortgage to complete work related to addressing health and safety hazards along with local code issues. Cost of work can be up to $45,000.00 per unit.   

Residents wishing to apply will have an opportunity to apply in-person on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 starting at 2PM. Staff will be available to take applications until 7PM. Applications will be taken at the HUB in the Government Center located at 115 E. Washington Street.

To qualify, applicants must be at or under 80% Area Median Income (AMI). Funding is limited and projects must be completed by 12/31/2022. Additional program eligibility requirements apply. Please visit the City’s website to see full details of program eligibility requirements.
