Hannah Horn Elected President of Illinois Farmers Market Association

Post Date:06/01/2026 10:06 AM

The City of Bloomington is proud to announce Downtown Bloomington Farmers’ Market Manager Hannah Horn has been elected President of the Illinois Farmers Market Association Board of Directors.

Horn was elected May 1, 2026, after serving three years on the board, first as a general board member before moving into leadership roles as Education Committee Chair and Vice President. Former President Libby Ervin has moved into the organization’s Executive Director role and will continue working alongside Horn moving forward.

As President, Horn will help lead the statewide organization’s strategic direction and continued work supporting farmers markets, local producers, and local food systems throughout Illinois while continuing her role with the City of Bloomington and the Downtown Bloomington Farmers’ Market.

“Hannah has helped grow the Downtown Bloomington Farmers’ Market into something that has become a true community destination,” said Cordaryl Patrick. “From supporting local vendors to creating experiences that keep people coming Downtown, her passion and leadership have made a real impact locally and now across the state.”

Horn has also presented at the annual Everything Local Conference on behalf of both the Downtown Bloomington Farmers’ Market and the Illinois Farmers Market Association, sharing ideas and best practices on vendor support, volunteer recruitment, and market growth.

The Downtown Bloomington Farmers' Market has served the community for 29 years and continues to grow as one of Downtown Bloomington’s signature events. In 2025, the market welcomed more than 23,800 visitors, nearly a 50 percent increase from two years earlier.

The market’s LINK Match program redeemed more than $10,000 in vouchers in 2025, helping SNAP customers purchase fresh local food while supporting area vendors and producers.

Beyond the market itself, Downtown Bloomington Farmers’ Market programming includes events like Dog Day at the Market, National Farmers Market Week celebrations, free yoga sessions, Storytime activities, and partnerships with more than 60 local organizations throughout the year.
