Spotlight: 2026 Streets and Sidewalks Report

The 2026 Streets and Sidewalks Report is now available! The City of Bloomington prepared the report to provide detailed street and sidewalk data that includes a high-level view of the current state of streets and sidewalks in the City, information about the various treatment methods the City uses to build and maintain streets and sidewalks, historical costs and expenditures, and the planned street and sidewalk programs for Fiscal Year 2027. Click here to download a PDF of the report.

The City created the infrastructure projects dashboard as an additional resource to keep the public informed of infrastructure projects occurring in the City. The dashboard provides a graphical depiction of how much work is being done and how much money is being spent by the City to improve the community.

Please note that project details, including timelines, scope, and other relevant information are subject to modification as needed.

Roadwork Update: Fox Creek Road & Bridge Improvements Project to Start

Post Date:04/30/2026 10:00 AM

BLOOMINGTON, IL - Fox Creek Road construction between west of Savanna Road and east of Beich Road is scheduled to start as early as Thursday, May 7, 2026. Roadwork project schedules may change depending on weather and other factors.

The project will deliver a new roadway consisting of two lanes in each direction with a bi-directional center turn lane, totaling five travel lanes, a new bridge, traffic signals at the intersections of Fox Creek Road at Danbury Drive and Fox Creek Road at Beich Road, a new multi-use trail, sidewalk improvements, and other related work. This stage of construction includes improvements along the north side of the existing corridor with traffic shifted to the southern side of the roadway.

While traffic will remain open with one lane in each direction during construction, motorists should expect impacts from construction activities. The contractor will stage operations to maintain access for residents and businesses throughout the project.
