BLOOMINGTON, IL – As part of the Hamilton Road construction between Bunn Street and Commerce Parkway, the westbound lane of Rhodes Lane between Bunn Street and Morrissey Drive closed starting, October 6, 2025. The closure was initially estimated to end on November 30, 2025. However, the closure has been extended because of delays and changes to construction activities.
Rhodes Lane will be restricted to one-way eastbound traffic until this stage of construction is complete, which is estimated to be May 1, 2026. Roadwork project schedules may change depending on weather and other factors. Westbound Rhodes Lane drivers should follow the marked detour route and expect delays. Detoured traffic will travel north on Morrissey Drive, west on Lafayette Street, and then south on Bunn Street.
While eastbound Rhodes Lane traffic will remain open during this stage of construction, motorists should expect impacts from construction activities. The contractor will stage operations to maintain access for residents and businesses throughout the project.
The project will deliver roadway and infrastructure improvements along Hamilton Road, Bunn Street, and Rhodes Lane. This phase includes hot-mix asphalt pavement, new curb and gutter, storm sewer installation, sidewalks, a new railroad crossing, a multi-use path, watermain upgrades, fencing, and other related work.
